Lady Bobcats turn season around after slow start
The Pitt-Greensburg women’s basketball team is on fire, having won nine of their past 10 games. The Lady Bobcats are now playing how many expected them to all season, erasing a slow start to the season.
Head coach Carol Gelet thinks she’s figured out the reason for the the slow start.
“We were not in game shape, the players did not gel as a group on the court and this in turn led to lack of confidence and trust on the floor,” Gelet said. “And also the other teams were ready to compete and unfortunately, we were not ready.”

Lady Bobcats stumbling early on the court
The Lady Bobcats have lost three of their past four games, and the defending conference champs don’t look like the team that many people expected to repeat.
Hosting Altoona on Monday, the Lady Bobcats, 3-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play, led practically the entire game but suffered their second home loss in a row.

Coach opts for challenging schedule to prepare Lady Bobcats for playoffs, NCAA tourney
The Lady Bobcats will have every player return except one from last year’s team that went 24-3 (17-1 in conference) en route to a conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division III basketball tournament.
The Lady Bobcats are loaded with talent and experience this year. They return with six seniors, including Kelsey Wilcox, the reigning player of the year in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, and Amanda Sheaffer, who was an honorable mention selection for the AMCC all-conference team last year.

Dream season ends, Lady Bobcats basketball look forward to next year

The Lady Bobcats had their magical season come to an end in the first round of the NCAA Division 3 tournament, but players are optimistic about next year.
Entering the March 6 game as confident underdogs, the Lady Bobcats fought hard and gave Baldwin-Wallace all they could handle, eventually falling by a score of 44-52.
Next year the team will return the entire roster except for standout senior guard Nicole Reiser. Kelsey Wilcox, the AMCC Player of the Year, knows it will be tough without Reiser who did so many things on the floor.

Three Lady Bobcats receive all-conference honors; team prepares for NCAA tournament

The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released its all-conference teams and player of the year awards today, with Pitt-Greensburg basketball players Kelsey Wilcox, Nicole Reiser, and Amanda Sheaffer all receiving honors.
Wilcox received the AMCC Player of the Year Award, as she averaged 15.8 points and 11.6 rebounds per game during her junior campaign. She recorded 16 double-doubles in 24 games, led the league in rebounds and she placed in the top five for points per game, field goal percentage and block shots. In her two previous seasons, she was named to the honorable-mention team.

Lady Bobcats win AMCC Championship

After finishing the regular-season with only two losses, the Lady Bobcats were expected by many to win the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference basketball tournament; but no one expected them to make it look easy.
They did.
Friday night they played fifth-seeded Medaille College, and both teams battled playoff nerves as they turned the ball over seven times each, before scoring seven points.

Lady Bobcats are the team to beat in AMCC hoops this year

The Lady Bobcats were picked to finish in first place in the conference this year, in the annual preseason poll. And the players expect nothing less.
Last year the team lost to Medaille College in the conference championship. This year, players intend to win it.

Women's basketball falls in title game, advances to ECAC

The UPG women’s basketball team’s seven-game winning streak ended Saturday against the Medaille Mavericks. The Lady Bobcats fell 69-55 in the title game of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference tournament last Saturday.
Despite the loss, however, the team earned a high seed in the ECAC South tournament.
Led by Nicole Reiser’s 17-point effort, the teams played a back-and-forth first half that ended with a one-point lead for the Mavericks, 30-29. However, Medaille pulled away in the second frame to earn the 14-point victory.

Lady Bobcats get revenge, upset Mavericks

Nicole Reiser: Junior guard Nicole Reiser sinks one of her 10 free throws in an upset of the #13 ranked Medaille Mavericks.
Heading into Saturday’s match-up against 13th ranked Medaille College, the Pitt-Greensburg women’s basketball team had all the motivation they needed to pull off an upset.
The combination of revenge, a rare home loss and a chance to make the Mavericks eat their words proved enough to spark a 77-72 win over their conference-leading rivals.
